Autopilot

Do you ever pull out your to-do list and then watch it slowly unravel until it hits the floor? Someone asked me the other day how I took 18 credits, got ready for four final projects, two final papers, three tests, worked two jobs, and still went out with my friends almost every night. At first, the question confused me--what did she mean? Busy? Yeah, I guess I am busy. A lot to do, yes.. but doesn't everyone have a lot to do?

The next day, I was still thinking about it. I realized what the answer was: Autopilot Mode. Autopilot mode consists of functioning through life, inhaling the things that come, and then spitting them back out... over and over and over again. I feel like a machine! Do things even make you blink anymore? No. After you go to school year-round for a few years in a row, I guess you get to that point where homework is just a natural thing. Sleep can be manipulated for a new essay that you have to write. Everything is relative... just get it done.

Autopilot mode allows me to do so many more things than I used to: I just tell autopilot what I want, and then I forget about it. How then does one get such a prolific amount of crap done in just 24 hours?! Autopilot, I say. Autopilot is a gift, and I'm going to treasure it. At least until I forget about it again.

Summer, bring it on!!! Autopilot disengaging in two weeks. bring. it. on.
